Ellen and I made a quick trip home over the weekend for my older sister's bridal shower. The theme for Katie's shower went off of her December wedding colors. Everything looked great!
We did one l-o-n-g table for the guests.
Favors were heart ornaments that my sister Mary Jo made.
Lovely centerpieces.
Full house.
The menu was chicken salad on croissants, caesar salad, and jell-o pretzel salad.
(Have you ever had jell-o pretzel salad?? So delicious!!!)
Cupcakes for dessert. (Also on the dessert menu for the wedding day! We were happy to taste test!) And hershey kisses, too!
Fun coffee bar that Mary Jo came up with complete with coffee, hot chocolate, flavored cream, whipped cream, candy cane stirs, marshmallows, chocolate shavings, and crushed candy canes.
This is a family bridal shower tradition I'll have to share in detail sometime. We make the bride a book from magazine pictures with sentimental - or usually funny - comments.
(Can you tell she's a teacher???)
This page was written by two sisters who shall remain anonymous...just notice she's not looking in my direction...
We are looking forward to the big day!
Love the color scheme!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post, I was wondering how it went! Katie looks so pretty, her hair is longer than I've seen it! Candy cane stirrers- great idea! It looks like a great time...and fun tradition of the homemade book!
