Press Cookie Traditions

One of my favorite family Christmas traditions is making Christmas cookies with my grandma.  For the past 20+ years my grandma, mom, sisters, and I have spent an entire day in December baking lots of Christmas cookies.


When I'm in town with my kids on baking day, there are four generations making cookies together!  


  
My grandpa gifted my grandma her "press cookie gun" years ago and it has faithfully made dozens of cookies over the years.  

This is one of our favorite press cookie recipes that we have made.  Hope you like it, too! 
  
Pressed Shortbread Cookies

1 Pound Butter
1 Cup Powdered Sugar
3 3/4 Sifted Flour
Pinch Salt

Cream butter and sugar. 
Add sifted flour and salt. 
Use cookie press to form shapes. 
Bake in 300 degree oven until golden brown.
