Our Home Fries

Our "go-to" homemade french fry recipe is easy, fairly healthy, and delicious.  We especially love these fries with grilled hamburgers or any dinner sandwiches/wraps.  And Ryan and I like to dip them in ranch dressing.  (Which pretty much eliminates any "healthy" part of them, but we do use "light" ranch...)

To make, wash and scrub baking potatoes and slice them up.

Put them in a bowl and drizzle with olive oil.  I use my hands to make sure they all get coated with olive oil.

Spread the fries on a greased cookie sheet.  (Yes, even though they are coated with olive oil, this is an important step so you can actually enjoy your fries on your dinner plate when they are finished cooking!)
Sprinkle fries with salt (and pepper if you wish).

Bake at 400 degrees for about 1 hour.

Serve (with optional ranch dressing) and enjoy!

  1. Yummmm. We like to add dry ranch seasoning to ours prior to cooking - along with olive oil and garlic powder.

  2. You should let them soak in a salt water brine for 45 minutes before you put them in the oven. It will make them taste better
